Expertise Matters
Choosing a therapist is an important decision. While connection and trust are essential, experience and specialized training also play an important role in achieving meaningful outcomes.
Throughout my career, I have dedicated myself to learning and utilizing treatment approaches that are supported by research and designed to help clients create lasting change. My goal is not simply to help people feel better temporarily. My goal is to help them build the skills, confidence, and resilience necessary to move forward.
Professional Experience
For more than a decade, I have worked with veterans, military families, caregivers, and individuals navigating some of life's most difficult challenges.
My professional experience includes extensive work supporting:
Veterans
Active Duty Soldiers

Adults experiencing anxiety and stress related conditions
Individuals navigating grief, loss, and life transitions
Couples and families impacted by trauma and chronic stress
This experience has provided a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by those who have experienced trauma, served others, or spent years carrying significant responsibilities.
Specialized Areas of Expertise
My practice focuses on helping adults address concerns related to:
Trauma and PTSD
Anxiety and chronic stress
Caregiver burnout and compassion fatigue
Relationship challenges impacted by trauma

Grief and loss
Sleep difficulties and insomnia

Advanced Clinical Training
I have completed advanced training in several evidence based treatment approaches that have been extensively researched and shown to be effective for a variety of mental health concerns.
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
Cognitive Processing Therapy is a leading evidence based treatment for PTSD and trauma related concerns. CPT helps individuals identify and challenge beliefs that may have developed following traumatic experiences, allowing them to process trauma and move forward in healthier ways.
Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE)
Prolonged Exposure Therapy is one of the most extensively researched treatments for PTSD. This approach helps individuals gradually confront trauma related memories, emotions, and situations that have been avoided, reducing the power those experiences have over daily life.
Written Exposure Therapy (WET)
Written Exposure Therapy is a structured trauma treatment that helps individuals process traumatic experiences through guided writing exercises. Research has shown this approach can be highly effective while requiring fewer sessions than some traditional trauma treatments.
Cognitive Behavioral Conjoint Therapy (CBCT)
Cognitive Behavioral Conjoint Therapy is an evidence based treatment designed to address the impact of trauma within relationships. This approach helps couples improve communication, strengthen connection, and work together in the recovery process.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I)
CBT-I is considered the gold standard psychological treatment for chronic insomnia. This approach helps individuals improve sleep quality by addressing behaviors and thought patterns that contribute to sleep difficulties.
My Treatment Philosophy
While specialized training is important, therapy is about more than techniques and certifications.
One of the beliefs that guides my work is that therapy should create independence, not dependence.
Many clients come to therapy after years of trying to manage challenges on their own. Some have participated in therapy before and gained insight but still feel stuck. My approach combines evidence based treatment, practical skill building, accountability, and compassion to help clients create meaningful and lasting change.
I believe therapy should help people:
Understand what is keeping them stuck
Develop effective tools and coping strategies
Challenge unhelpful patterns
Strengthen relationships
Build confidence and resilience
Create a life that aligns with their values and goals
Success is not measured by how long someone stays in therapy. Success is measured by whether they are able to move forward with greater confidence, flexibility, and independence.

Why This Matters
Research consistently shows that effective therapy is built upon two important factors:
A strong therapeutic relationship
The use of effective treatment approaches
My commitment is to provide both.
You deserve a therapist who not only understands your experiences, but who also has the training and experience necessary to help you move toward meaningful and lasting change.
Healing is possible. Growth is possible. Meaningful change is possible.
