Getting Started

Taking the First Step

Starting therapy can feel intimidating. Whether this is your first experience with counseling or you've been in therapy before, it's normal to have questions about the process.

My goal is to make getting started as straightforward and comfortable as possible.

Step 1: Schedule a Free Consultation

I offer a complimentary 15 minute phone consultation to help determine whether we are a good fit for one another.

During this conversation, we can discuss:

  • What brings you to therapy

  • Your goals for treatment

  • Questions you may have about the therapy process

  • Scheduling availability

  • Insurance and payment options

The consultation is also an opportunity for you to decide whether my approach feels like the right fit for your needs.

Step 2: Complete Your Intake Paperwork

Once your appointment is scheduled, you will receive secure electronic intake forms to complete before your first session.

These forms include:

  • Demographic information

  • Practice policies

  • Consent forms

  • Clinical history

  • Insurance information, if applicable

Completing paperwork before your first appointment allows us to spend more time focusing on you and your goals during session.

What Therapy Is Like

Therapy at Resurgence Therapy Collective is collaborative, goal oriented, and focused on meaningful progress.

My approach is warm, direct, and practical. I believe therapy should help you understand your struggles while also providing tools to create lasting change.

During this session we may discuss:

  • Current symptoms and challenges

  • Relevant life experiences

  • Previous treatment experiences

  • Personal strengths and support systems
